Please come in with hair that’s clean and dry, without any head lice treatments or heavy styling products in it. If the hair is long, please tie it back beforehand — this reduces the amount of loose hair that can make contact with others, which is how lice crawl from head to head.
No — no lice products or chemicals feature anywhere in the process. The Wandsworth team uses a specialist lice hoover to remove crawling lice, heated-air technology to dehydrate them, and forensic hand-combing to clear out the eggs.
The process starts with a specialist hoover to remove any crawling lice. Next, university-developed controlled heated air is used to dehydrate the eggs. Finally, the team works through with nit combs and nit picks to remove the eggs themselves.
